Being Updated
As part of the district-wide start of the 2025–2026 school year, California Elementary threw red carpet parties to welcome back its students. The school is now asking people in the community to fill out the 2026 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) survey so they can get useful feedback on their educational goals. This year, all students in the district get free breakfast and lunch because of the Community Eligibility Provision. It also helps the staff and students.
Q1. How can parents sign up for California Elementary's free bus service?
Ans. To prove that their child is eligible based on the distance from home to school, parents must fill out a transportation request form and send it to the district office.
Q2. Does California Elementary have an open house every year for families who might want to move into the area?
Ans. During the school's annual spring open house, families can see the campus and meet the teachers.
Q3. Does California Elementary have music programs for fourth graders that use instruments?
Ans. Students in fourth and fifth grade can take band or orchestra lessons during school hours once a week.
Q4. What is California Elementary's policy on delivering birthday treats?
Ans. The school suggests that students bring non-food items instead of food for celebrations to keep them safe and focused in class.
Q5. Does California Elementary have a separate science lab where students can do experiments?
Ans. Teachers use mobile science kits and special areas in the classroom to do hands-on experiments that follow the Next Generation Science Standards.
