El Cerrito Elementary is getting ready for Read Across America Week, which will be from March 2 to March 6, 2026. The school's Robotics Club got some attention in the community after taking part in the OC Magnolia VEX IQ event at the end of January. New students in Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten can also officially sign up for the 2026–2027 school year.
Q1. What is El Cerrito Elementary School's "Code to the Future" program?
Ans. Students in this computer science immersion program learn how to code and build robots as part of their regular classes.
Q2. Is there a student leadership council at El Cerrito Elementary?
Ans. Upper-grade students can be on the Student Council to plan events on campus and speak for the interests of the student body.
Q3. What are the school colors and mascot for El Cerrito Elementary?
Ans. The Roadrunner is the school's mascot, and during weekly spirit assemblies and events, students wear blue and white.
Q4. Are there any weeks at El Cerrito Elementary that are all about reading?
Ans. As part of Read Across America Week, the school has guest readers and themed literacy activities for all students.
Q5. What does El Cerrito Elementary do to make sure students get to school safely in the morning?
Ans. Staff runs a coordinated valet system to make sure students get safely from their cars to campus.
