Being Updated
Deerfield Elementary will observe a school closure on January 19 in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes will also not be held on January 20 due to a scheduled teacher and student holiday. The closures pause instructional activities for two consecutive days on the academic calendar.
Q1. How do students sign up for Deerfield Elementary?
Ans. Families send in proof of residency, immunization records, and the required forms through Irvine Unified's centralized online enrollment system before their child is placed.
Q2. What are the rules for attendance during the school year?
Ans. Parents must tell the school when their child will be absent and whether the absence is excused or unexcused. Excused absences include illness, appointments, or other approved reasons.
Q3. How do people find out about school closures and emergency alerts?
Ans. The district's mass notification system sends families alerts about emergencies, closures, and other important news by phone, email, and app.
Q4. How do parents talk to teachers when there aren't any conferences?
Ans. Parents can use district-approved messaging tools and direct email to talk to teachers about problems in the classroom.
Q5. How do you handle the pickup and drop-off procedures?
Ans. School has its own rules about pickup and drop-off that are meant to keep students safe.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
