Recently, Highland Elementary took part in a district-wide Winter Arts Showcase. During the event, students showed off visual and performing arts projects they had worked on during the semester. Families and people from the community came to the event to see how creative and involved students are outside of school.
Q1. Are there after-school programs at Highland Elementary?
Ans. Yes, Highland Elementary has after-school activities like homework help, arts and crafts, and sports, depending on availability and funding.
Q2. Do kids at Highland Elementary have to wear uniforms?
Ans. The school has a dress code policy that most of the time is followed to help create a focused and respectful place to learn.
Q3. What can parents do to help with school events?
Ans. Parents can get involved by joining the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), volunteering, going to school events, or joining advisory committees that help with campus projects.
Q4. Does the school help students who are learning English as a second language (ELL)?
Ans. Yes, Highland Elementary has programs to help multilingual students improve their English skills and do better in school.
Q5. Is there a place on campus where students can get counseling or help?
Ans. The school has programs for counseling, academic help, and social and emotional support to help students feel good and make the school a better place to be.
