Winchell Elementary School was impacted by new traffic safety improvements activated in March 2025. The City of Fresno turned on new traffic signals in the Winchell neighborhood to better manage traffic flow near the school. The changes were implemented to improve student and pedestrian safety during arrival and dismissal times.
