It is one of seven high schools in the Central Unified School District and has a lot of students, with a student-to-teacher ratio of about 24:1. Central High School is putting student health and wellness first by opening a new wellness center on campus that will offer mental health resources and peer support groups. The athletic department is still doing well, as a number of student-athletes recently signed National Letters of Intent to play at the college level. The school has added extended-day tutoring sessions in core subjects to make sure that all students have the tools they need to graduate.
