Being Updated
Kennedy Elementary's Eagles were part of the Dinuba Unified celebration, honoring the district's 2025 Tulare County Office of Education Excellence in Education Awards. Three DUSD educators were acknowledged for their work throughout the district. Back at Kennedy, the school calendar already had a Pedestrian Safety initiative penciled in for May 2025. This program, designed with the community in mind, really shows how much the school cares about its students, reaching far beyond just what's taught in the classroom.
Under Interim Principal Mrs. Josefina Velazquez, the campus maintains its usual academic and family programs, running smoothly without a hitch.
Q1. What support does the school offer for students who need extra academic help?
Ans. Kennedy has an Academic Coach and an Intervention Support Teacher on staff — both dedicated to working with students who need more than the regular classroom can provide. If your child is struggling, the school has structured pathways to get them targeted help rather than leaving it to chance.
Q2. Are there after-school enrichment programs at Kennedy Elementary?
Ans. Yes. Kennedy participates in DUSD's Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, which runs after the regular school day and covers a mix of academic support and enrichment clubs. The specifics shift each semester, so checking with the school office or the ParentSquare app is the fastest way to see what's currently on offer.
Q3. How does the school handle student mental health and social-emotional support?
Ans. Kennedy has a full-time counselor on staff — Genesis Valle — along with a Campus Life Mentor. The school also has a Community Liaison who works specifically with families, which is more of a hands-on support structure than most elementary campuses in the district offer.
Q4. Is there a school library, and can students access books regularly?
Ans. Yes, Kennedy has a school library staffed by both a full-time librarian and a library technician, which is not common at campuses this size. Students have regular access during the school week, and the library ties into broader DUSD literacy programming that spans all grade levels.
Q5. How can new families learn about the school before enrolling?
Ans. The best starting points are the school's official website at kennedy.dinuba.k12.ca.us and the front office line at (559) 595-7300. Kennedy also runs family events throughout the year — Bingo Night is one of the recurring ones — which give parents a chance to see the campus and meet staff before making any decisions.
