Cypress Elementary School demonstrates strong family involvement and student engagement through various activities for parents and children alike throughout the school. The school has had recent events promoting reading as families, encouraging people to become members of the PTA, and recognizing students for making a positive contribution to the school by having good attendance. Other district-wide initiatives within the Covina-Valley Unified School District also create opportunities for students to be part of their communities via many different type of events such as large student festivals or other types of enrichment programs. Also, these initiatives provide several opportunities for students at Cypress Elementary to connect, participate in their learning, and celebrate their accomplishments with other students from the Covina-Valley School District.
Q1. Does Cypress Elementary School have after-school programs for its students?
Ans. Yes. Cypress Elementary School does offer after-school programs such as academic assistance, after-school programs that keep students engaged outside of normal hours (from 1-3 hours), and other possible programs.
Q2. Does Cypress Elementary School have any opportunities for parents to become involved?
Ans. Yes. Cypress Elementary school offers numerous opportunities for parents to participate in their child's education and be involved in the school community. Parents can participate in many ways: serve on school committees, volunteer in classrooms, attend family events that will occur throughout the year, etc.
Q3. Does Cypress Elementary School have any in-place support services for its students?
Ans. Yes, CG-ES provides various forms of academic assistance. Academic assistance includes: individualized/group instruction; a targeted after-school homework help program, and or support from an intervention specialist or other support staff.
Q4. What are the after-school activities for students at CYPRESS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL?
Ans. Many school campuses have after-school programs. Some common activities are reading programs, seasonal activities, and other school-sponsored clubs.
Q5. How does Cypress Elementary keep families informed of important updates and changes?
Ans. Cypress communicates with families using newsletters, e-mail, and regularly scheduled meetings to keep families updated on events, calendars, and student progress.
