Mariners Elementary School was recognized in early 2026 for its continued high performance in state-required academic testing. The school is participating in the district's "Attendance Matters" campaign to boost classroom engagement this winter. Enrollment for the 2026-27 school year officially began for the Mariners community on January 8.
Q1. Does Mariners Elementary allow parents to park in the main school lot?
Ans. Parents are not permitted to park in the Mariners lot without a valid NMUSD parking permit during school hours.
Q2. What happens if a Mariners Elementary student is not picked up on time?
Ans. Students not picked up within fifteen minutes of dismissal are escorted to the office to wait for their parents.
Q3. Does Mariners Elementary offer before-school care options for families?
Ans. The YMCA on campus provides before-school care starting at 6:45 AM for families who need early morning student supervision.
Q4. How does Mariners Elementary handle emergency reunifications during a disaster?
Ans. In a disaster, parents must report to the Mariners Park reunification location to pick up their children from staff.
