In November 2025, Bunche Middle School's boys and girls basketball teams both won the CUSD Basketball Championships. The championships were the end of the district's seasonal basketball competition for middle schools that wanted to take part. The two wins were a big deal for the whole Compton Unified School District athletics calendar.
