Latest News

Valley View Elementary began the 2025–26 school year on August 20, 2025, greeting students back to its Coachella campus, following the CVUSD's established academic calendar. Parents were requested to refresh student authorizations via the district's Aeries Parent Portal before the new term commenced. In a separate development, the Coachella Valley Education Foundation, which supports CVUSD schools, including Valley View, opened applications for board vacancies in early 2026. This program aims to strengthen community backing for students across the entire district.

FAQ

Q1. Does Valley View Elementary offer an after-school program?

Ans. Yes. Valley View offers an ASES program, which stands for After School Education and Safety. This program gives students extra help with their schoolwork and supervised activities once the regular school day is over. If you're a family looking to enroll your child, you can call the school office at (760) 398-4651.

Q2. How do I enroll my child at Valley View Elementary?

Ans. Enrollment goes through the Coachella Valley Unified School District. You can apply online via the CVUSD Aeries Parent Portal or visit the school office at 85-270 Valley Rd., Coachella, CA 92236. You'll need proof of residency, immunization records, and a birth certificate to complete the process.

Q3. What language support does Valley View offer for Spanish-speaking families?

Valley View, with its predominantly Hispanic student body, is ideally situated to support Spanish-speaking families. CVUSD offers bilingual communications for parents, along with translation services. Furthermore, the district provides an English Learner (EL) support program within the school to assist students and their families in adjusting to school.

Q4. What extracurricular activities are available at Valley View?

Ans. Beyond the GATE program, Valley View participates in district-supported enrichment activities. CVUSD has partnered with organizations including LA Galaxy to bring hands-on experiences to students. Specific campus offerings can change year to year, so it's worth calling the school to get an up-to-date list for the current academic year.

Q5. What standardized tests do Valley View students take each year?

Ans. Students in grades three through six take the CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) each spring.
