Being Updated
In January 2026, Claremont Unified School District scheduled a special Board of Education meeting that included updates on district programs such as Danbury Special Education. The meeting, scheduled for January 15, invited community members to review district updates and provide public comments on educational matters and student services. While the agenda covered several topics across the district, families connected to specialized programs were encouraged to stay informed and participate in discussions about support services and campus initiatives.
Q1. Does Danbury Special Education create individualized learning plans for students?
Ans. Yes. Danbury Special Education has developed each student through IEPs developed collaboratively with the students’ teachers, specialist, and their parents. The main goal of each IEP is to provide the students with the specialized tools they need to achieve their own specific learning and development goals.
Q2. Are therapy services available at Danbury Special Education?
Ans. Yes. Danbury Special Education can provide students with services such as speech, occupational (OT), or behavior support services based on a student’s individual needs and as specified in their IEP.
Q3. How can families enroll a child at Danbury Special Education?
Ans. Placement into Danbury Special Education comes through the Claremont Unified School District’s special education evaluation process. Evaluation specialists in the district assess student needs and then recommend a school based on those needs.
Q4. Do students at Danbury Special Education participate in activities outside the classroom?
Ans. Yes. Students at Danbury Special Education may take part in supervised outdoor activities, small group programs, and school events that support social interaction and practical learning.
Q5. Can parents meet with teachers at Danbury Special Education to discuss student progress?
Ans. Yes. Parents and guardians can meet with teachers and support staff at Danbury Special Education during the school year to review progress, discuss goals, and adjust learning plans when needed.
