The Center for Alternative Learning in Chico, California, recently added more programs to help students, focusing on credit recovery, personalized learning plans, and workshops to help students get ready for their careers. School leaders say that these programs are helping students get back on track with their studies, gain confidence, and get ready for graduation and college.
Q1. What kinds of activities do you have outside of school?
Ans. The school has a few clubs and group workshops, but they are more about getting involved in the community than playing on traditional sports teams.
Q2. Does the school help students with special needs?
Ans. Yes, students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) get help and support that is specific to their needs.
Q3. What kinds of counseling services are there?
Ans. To help students do well in school and in life, the school offers academic, career, and mental health counseling.
Q4. Are there chances to get vocational or career training?
Ans. Yes, students can get help with their careers, internships, and vocational workshops to get ready for work after they graduate.
Q5. How easy is it to change the school schedule?
Ans. The Center for Alternative Learning lets students choose their own schedule so they can balance school with their personal, work, or family life.
