This spring, students at Mary Deterding Elementary are taking part in fun after-school activities like Jr. Robotics and Chess Academy, which help them learn in a hands-on way outside of school.
Q1. Does Mary Deterding Elementary have programs after school?
Ans: The school may offer after-school enrichment or work with local groups to provide academic help and childcare, depending on how much money they have and how many spaces are available.
Q2: Can parents help out at school?
Ans. Parents can help by volunteering, joining a parent-teacher association, helping with fundraising events, or joining a school committee that supports campus initiatives.
Q3. Does the school help students who are learning to speak English?
Ans. Mary Deterding Elementary School helps students who speak more than one language meet academic standards by offering English Language Development (ELD) classes and help in the classroom.
Q4: What kinds of things can students do to grow?
Ans. Students can join clubs, arts programs, assemblies, and school-wide events that help them be creative, take charge, and become part of the community.
Q5. What does the school do to make sure the campus is safe?
Ans. The school follows district safety rules to make sure the learning environment is safe. Some of these are checking in visitors, having adults watch over the campuses, and practicing emergency drills on a regular basis.
