Being Updated
Round Meadow Elementary welcomed Stephanie Moncada as its new principal for 2025-26 — she came from A.C. Stelle Middle School, where she served as assistant principal, and brings a background in special education, English, and Design-Based Learning from Cal Poly Pomona. Her opening message to families explicitly named "joy in learning" and "meaningful relationships" as priorities alongside academic growth — a different register than the typical new-principal letter. On the academic side, Round Meadow's 69% math and 74% reading proficiency keep it in the top 10% of California elementary schools and the third-highest ranked campus in LVUSD by SchoolDigger.
Q1. Why does Round Meadow have so many sports for an elementary school?
Ans. Round Meadow offers 8 sports the most of any elementary campus in LVUSD. This is genuinely unusual for a K–5 school; most elementaries in California offer two at most. The breadth of athletic programming at Round Meadow reflects the school's strong parent association (RMPFA) that actively funds programs beyond what the district provides. If your child is athletic and wants to compete at the elementary level, this campus has more options than almost any public elementary school in the region.
Q2. What is the Green Team at Round Meadow?
Ans. The Green Team is a student-led environmental program at Round Meadow that focuses on sustainability initiatives on campus. It connects to LVUSD's district-wide commitment to environmental education LVUSD won a 2026 California Green Ribbon Schools Award (Silver distinction) from State Superintendent Tony Thurmond, placing it among just 13 districts statewide to receive that recognition.
Q3. Does Round Meadow have technology in the classroom?
Ans. Yes. Third through fifth graders use laptops daily through LVUSD's Forward Learning Initiative. TK through second grade have regular iPad access. The school also has a dedicated library and media center with its own online catalog, which students and families can access remotely.
Q4. What enrichment options are available outside of school hours?
Ans. After-school enrichment at Round Meadow runs through the Boys & Girls Club of Conejo (bgcconejo.org/round-meadow-enrichment), separate from the LVUSD Plus care program. There's also an Outdoor Education program for older students through the district. The RMPFA (rmpfa.org) maintains its own website and calendar with additional family events throughout the year.
Q5. Is Round Meadow actually in Calabasas or Hidden Hills?
Ans. The school's physical address is 5151 Round Meadow Road, Hidden Hills, CA 91302. Hidden Hills is a small, private gated city that sits within LVUSD's service area. For school district purposes, Round Meadow functions as a Calabasas-area campus — it feeds into Alice C. Stelle Middle School and then Calabasas High School, the same pathway as the other LVUSD campuses in this group. Families living in the Hidden Hills attendance zone are assigned here automatically.
