The Montara Elementary administration is asking families to update their emergency contact information for the 2025–2026 school year. This week's conferences at the school site will follow the district's minimum day schedule to make sure that communication between home and school is good. Also, the most recent school accountability report cards for Barstow schools were just made available to the public.
Q1. Is there a nurse at Montara Elementary School?
Ans. A health clerk is available every day to give basic first aid and follow district rules for giving out medicine to students.
Q2. Does Montara Elementary have a "Back to School" night?
Ans. This event, which happens every year in early September, invites families to meet teachers and learn what is expected of them in class.
Q3. What is the rule about cell phones at Montara Elementary?
Ans. To keep the learning environment focused and free of distractions, student devices must stay off and in their backpacks.
Q4. Is there a lost and found at Montara Elementary?
Ans. Parents can regularly find and pick up unclaimed items from a central location near the office.
Q5. Does Montara Elementary have any programs for gardens or nature?
Ans. Students can learn about biology and environmental science outside in the school's natural areas.
