Walnut Elementary's "Attendance Equals Success" campaign is in full swing this February. The goal is to get all students to come to school every day. The school recently held a series of family math workshops where parents and kids learned math through fun games. With the help of Principal Dr. Laura Rodriguez, the School Site Council is looking over the draft of the new Comprehensive School Safety Plan.
Q1. What is the "Attendance Equals Success" campaign at Walnut Elementary School?
Ans. This program rewards students who come to class regularly and teaches families about the connection between attendance and grades.
Q2. Does Walnut Elementary School have math workshops for families?
Ans. The school sets up interactive sessions where parents and kids can learn math together by playing fun games.
Q3. How does Walnut Elementary come up with the Comprehensive School Safety Plan?
Ans. The School Site Council meets often to look over safety data and get feedback from the public for the yearly plan updates.
Q4. Does Walnut Elementary have a kindergarten program that helps kids get ready for school?
Ans. The campus has a TK program for the youngest students that focuses on social-emotional growth and early literacy.
Q5. What are the traditions of school spirit at "Walnut Elementary"?
Ans. Every Friday is spirit day, and students wear their school shirts to show pride in their school.
