Being Updated
Don Juan Avila Elementary School is preparing to open applications for its School of Choice program for the 2026–2027 school year. Around the same time, staff are organizing plans for the annual 5th-grade science camp, a key activity for students nearing the end of elementary school. The school is still using PBIS strategies to support student behavior and participation, and staff are also paying closer attention to attendance through everyday classroom activities and school programs.
Q1. What are the hours of operation at Don Juan Avila Elementary School?
Ans. The timing is usually similar to that of other elementary schools, but it can change depending on the grade level. Most parents get the schedule before school starts, or they just check with the office if they’re unsure.
Q2. Are there extra-curricular activities available?
Ans. There can be a few activities during the year, like small clubs or seasonal programs, but it’s not always the same each time. It really depends on what’s being planned for that particular school year.
Q3. How do schools inform families about important updates?
Ans. Schools don’t rely on just one method. Some updates come by email, sometimes through newsletters, and other times, teachers share things directly if it’s related to the class.
Q4. Does the school provide a lunch program?
Ans. Yes, a lunch option is generally available on campus. Students can use the school lunch option or just bring food from home if they prefer.
Q5. How do schools help students adjust to a new environment?
Ans. For new students, the first few days are usually more about getting used to things. Teachers go over basic routines and keep things simple so students don’t feel overwhelmed right away.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
