The George Visual and Performing Arts Magnet is getting ready for its annual spring musical showcase, where students will sing, dance, and act. To help middle school students with their creative media projects, the school recently added new digital arts software to its tech lab. Families are also learning about the holidays that district staff will be taking and the closure for Spring Break in April 2026.
Q1. What makes the George Visual and Performing Arts Magnet's curriculum different for students?
Ans. The school includes music, dance, and drama in the daily curriculum to encourage creative expression along with core academics.
Q2. Are there competitive sports teams for middle schoolers at George Visual and Performing Arts Magnet?
Ans. Local school leagues have basketball, volleyball, and track teams that students in grades six through eight can join.
Q3. What are the rules for students using their cell phones at George Visual and Performing Arts Magnet?
Ans. From the first bell until the last bell, all devices must be turned off and put away in lockers or backpacks.
Q4. Is there a special place for artistic performances at George Visual and Performing Arts Magnet?
Ans. The campus has a special multi-purpose room that can be used for plays, concerts, and student dance performances.
Q5: What can parents do to help with the arts programs at the George Visual and Performing Arts Magnet?
Ans. After passing a district background check and getting clearance, families can help with making costumes and building the stage.
