Chico, California, is a busy college town in the northern Sacramento Valley with about 102,000 people living there. It has a relaxed way of life, beautiful parks, and a culture that values the community, which makes it a great place for families to grow. The city has a great school system, with more than twenty public elementary schools and a number of well-known private schools. The local school system puts a lot of stress on a well-rounded approach to education, which includes high academic standards and a lot of extracurricular activities in the arts and sciences. Many of the schools in the area get high marks for how well their students are doing. Some have even won the California Distinguished School award for their work in closing achievement gaps.
