Latest News

This month, the Arkansas Department of Education gave Bernice Young Elementary School in Springdale's Top Performance Award, which made the news in the area. The school got one of the highest performance payouts for elementary schools in the state for the 2025 cycle because its students did so well in math and reading, which are core subjects. At a recent meeting of the Springdale School District board, school leaders praised the achievement and talked about how hard teachers, staff, students, and families worked to reach this goal. Principal Christy Norwood said that the award not only brings attention to the school, but it also gives them more money that they plan to use to improve classroom supports and enrichment programs. The award shows that Bernice Young Elementary is one of the best public elementary schools in Arkansas.
