This month, the Arkansas Department of Education gave Bernice Young Elementary School in Springdale's Top Performance Award, which made the news in the area. The school got one of the highest performance payouts for elementary schools in the state for the 2025 cycle because its students did so well in math and reading, which are core subjects.
