In the 2024–25 statewide accountability report, Asbell Elementary got a "B" grade under the new grading system. This shows that schools in the district are doing well overall.
Q1. Does Asbell Elementary have programs or care for kids after school?
Ans. Yes, Asbell Elementary has an after-school program called The Nest for kids in 3rd and 4th grades. It runs Monday through Friday from 3:10 PM to 5:30 PM.
Q2. Does Asbell Elementary take part in any community-wide meal or nutrition support services?
Ans. Yes, the school works with groups in the community to hold a monthly pantry for families in need.
Q3. Can families sign up their kids for Pre-K or Kindergarten at Asbell Elementary?
Ans. Yes, Asbell has just said that its Pre-K program is now accepting applications. New students can also officially sign up for kindergarten.
Q4. Is Asbell Elementary involved in safety and transportation programs that are run by the district or the city?
Ans. Yes, the school is part of the district's "Safe Routes to School" Action Plan, which is a community-based effort to make it safer for students to get to and from school.
Q5. Does Asbell Elementary School give meals or help to students who are poor?
Ans. Yes, students who qualify can get free or low-cost meals through the district's nutrition program. The school also encourages families to fill out applications for meal assistance.
