Mears Middle School eighth-grade students participated in We the People public forums in May 2025. The forums focused on U.S. constitutional history and colonial foundations. Students presented their knowledge before a panel of judges as part of the program.
Q1. How does Mears Middle School handle dropping off and picking up students?
Ans. The school follows the rules set by the Anchorage School District for traffic flow and designated loading zones. This makes it easier and safer for families to drop off and pick up their kids.
Q2. What supports are available for students who need academic help during the year?
Ans. Academic help means getting help from teachers and resources from the district. These give students set times to go over ideas or practice skills.
Q3. How does the school use devices responsibly during learning?
Ans. Students use district-managed digital tools, and staff emphasize responsible use so learning stays focused while online safety expectations are upheld.
Q4. What steps are taken to promote student health and wellness?
Ans. Wellness supports include access to counseling and health services, allowing students to seek help when they face social, emotional, or physical concerns.
Q5. In what ways can parents take part in school life?
Ans. Families can participate through school events, communication channels, and opportunities to connect with staff, helping build a strong school-home partnership.
