Grand Opening: A grand opening and ribbon-cutting event for the new building took place on Monday, November 10, 2025, where hundreds of students and parents explored the new space.
Q1. How does Hillside help people set goals early on?
Ans. Students set simple academic or behavioral goals, check in with their teachers to see how they're doing, and learn how to keep track of their progress.
Q2. How does the school teach students how to keep track of simple experiments?
Ans. Students practice writing down what they see during science activities by using charts, labeled drawings, and observation notes.
Q3. What do students do to help them get back to work after recess?
Ans. Teachers help students get ready to learn again by leading them through cool-down periods, reminding them to drink water, and setting clear expectations for how to re-enter the classroom.
Q4. How do read-alouds help Hillside students learn new words?
Ans. Teachers go over important words ahead of time, show how to use them in context, and then bring them up again in follow-up discussions to help students understand better.
Q5. How does the school teach kids how to share with each other in a responsible way?
Ans. Students learn how to take turns, share materials, and play together in a way that encourages respectful behavior.
