About Discovery Middle School

Vancouver Public Schools runs Discovery Middle School, which is for kids in grades 6–8. It helps a lot of different types of students do better in school and build strong academic foundations. The student-to-teacher ratio at the school is approximately 17:1. This way, teachers can help students with their homework while also teaching them. Ten percent of students are good at math, and twenty-five percent are good at reading. This shows that the school is still trying to help its students learn new things and do better in school. Discovery Middle School teaches kids the basics and has fun activities that help them learn to read, write, and solve problems. The school also stresses how important it is to have high standards for behavior, get families involved, and learn how to deal with your feelings and talk to other people. Discovery Middle School prepares students for high school by keeping the same routines in the classroom and using targeted interventions. The school also makes the classroom a nice and useful place to be.
