Richardson North J H received approval for a major campus expansion in December 2025 following a unanimous rezoning decision by the Richardson City Council. The project will more than double the school’s size, increasing from about 94,000 to over 228,000 square feet as it transitions into a full 6th–8th grade middle school. Construction is expected to begin in May or June 2026, with the expanded campus scheduled to open in fall 2028. The project is funded through the $1.4 billion Bond 2025 package approved by voters in November 2024.
