About Morningside Middle

Morningside Middle is a public middle school in North Charleston, South Carolina. It is part of the Charleston County School District and serves students in grades 6–8. There are about 555 students at the school, and the student-teacher ratio is about 11:1. This helps keep class sizes small and gives teachers more time to teach. This means that there are still academic issues and opportunities for focused enhancement. Like most public schools in South Carolina, the school receives money from the district and the state. However, the exact amount spent on each student is not made public. Morningside Middle is in a residential area of North Charleston. It gets help and support from the community, which helps students grow. Morningside Middle's main focus is on teaching English language arts, math, science, and social studies, but the school also puts a lot of emphasis on helping students and teaching them how to deal with their emotions. The school has mostly minority students, which is similar to the community around it. U.S. News data shows that only about 8% of students are proficient at math and 18% are proficient at reading. Overall, the school looks excellent because it has a low student-to-teacher ratio and is always working to improve student engagement and academic performance.
