Gilbert Stuart Middle School is currently undergoing a major transformation. In late 2025, demolition began to make way for a new, state-of-the-art PreK-8 dual language school slated to open by 2027 as part of a district-wide facility modernization plan.
Q1: Is it possible for students to change their electives in the middle of the year?
Ans. Each request to change electives during the school year is looked at on its own and approved based on scheduling and academic needs.
Q2: Does the school give out planners to help with schoolwork?
Ans. Students often get academic planners to help them keep track of their work and stay on top of things.
Q3. What kind of help do substitute teachers get?
Ans. Substitute teachers can keep the flow of instruction going with standardized lesson plans and clear rules for the classroom.
Q4. Is there someone in charge before class starts in the morning?
Ans. There isn't much adult supervision on campus before the first bell to keep students safe.
Q5: Do parents have to go to meetings with their child's teacher?
Ans. Every year, all students have meetings with their parents and teachers to talk about school and how they're doing.
