In Southwest Portland, Robert Gray Middle School is at 5505 SW 23rd Ave. There are 450 students in grades 6–8 at the school. There is a student–teacher ratio of 16:1. The test results show that 56% of students are good at math and 70% are good at reading. There are 51% female students and 49% male students. The atmosphere is very focused on academics and open to all students. Teachers are committed to keeping a strict curriculum that pushes students to do their best. Parents have a lot of faith in the school's ability to get students ready for top high schools. Parents who are very involved in school committees help keep the community strong and supportive.
