With a population of about 76,000, Missoula, Montana, is a lovely city. It is on the western edge of the state and is known for its arts scene, outdoor activities, and family-friendly culture. Missoula County Public Schools (MCPS) is the main school system for middle school students in Missoula. It runs three middle schools for grades 6–8 and is always one of the best districts in Montana for students who are proficient at both math and reading. Washington Middle School, Target Range 7-8, and Hellgate Middle School are some of the best middle schools in the area. MCPS puts a lot of emphasis on core academics, making schools friendly places to be, and giving students a lot of choices for extracurricular activities like clubs and sports. They often do better in school than the average school in the state. It also benefits from strong community involvement. A mix of private schools also offers different ways to learn, giving families more options.
