Peoria sits in central Illinois along the Illinois River and has a population just over 110,000. The city has a mix of older neighborhoods, newer housing areas, and everyday local spots, where families tend to settle. Daily life in Peoria is fairly relaxed, and many people continue living here for years. In Peoria, a lot of students just go to whichever middle school is closest, while some families choose a private or church school instead. School days aren’t all that different from one place to another—there’s math, reading, science, and then whatever else is scheduled, like sports or a club here and there.Getting to school usually isn’t a big task for most families. Students come from all kinds of neighbourhoods, and some will need extra help at times, which schools try to provide when they can.
