Franklin Middle School is 300 20th Street NE in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in the northeast part of the city. The school is for kids in grades 6–8. There are about 620 students enrolled. The school is organized and open to everyone, with routines that help students stay on track with their studies and be polite. Franklin Middle School hosted College & Career Pathways meetings to guide families on future planning. The school also launched free summer meals for students, enhancing community support. Staff are working under ESSA Targeted Year 1 to improve subgroup performance. The school maintains strong reading scores and active family engagement.
