Ballard Hudson Middle School is making progress in helping students stay healthy and teachers improve their skills! The Georgia Foundation for Public Education gave the school $50,000 to set up an Extended Reality (XR) platform for mental health support and a Mixed Reality New Teacher Orientation program. This program's goal is to improve the health of students and faculty while also helping new teachers. Destinee Pratt has also joined the school as the new band director. This brings new life to the music program.
Q1. What does Ballard Hudson Middle School do to make students want to learn more?
Ans. Students learn to think critically about ideas and improve their problem-solving skills through inquiry-based lessons, project-based learning, and group activities.
Q2. What kinds of creative programs are available?
Ans. Students can join programs in music, visual arts, theater, and writing to improve their artistic skills and ability to express themselves.
Q3. How does the school help kids feel good about themselves?
Ans. Counseling, wellness workshops, and mindfulness practices help students learn how to deal with their emotions and cope in healthy ways.
Q4. What are the steps to becoming a good leader?
Ans. Student councils, mentorship programs, and projects that require teamwork help students become more responsible, confident, and able to work with others.
Q5. What does Ballard Hudson do to connect with families and the community?
Ans. Volunteer projects, family workshops, and community events all get people involved and make relationships stronger.
