Being Updated
In August 2025, the Visalia Unified School District put in place new security measures at La Joya Middle School. The upgrades include putting in a Verkada intercom system that requires visitors to ring a doorbell and be checked out before they can enter the front office. All of the campus gates stay locked during the school day. The steps make sure that controlled entry procedures are the same across the board and that campus access is in line with district safety rules.
