There are about 1,600 students in grades 9 through 12, and the student-to-teacher ratio is about 14:1. This makes for a fun place to learn. The school is known for having one of the best International Baccalaureate (IB) programs in the world, with a 13% participation rate. According to the demographics, 20% of the students are minorities, and 34% of the students are economically disadvantaged. Academic performance is steady, with 54% of students doing well in Reading and 34% in Math. The school is in a historic building that is a landmark in the community. It benefits from Casper's stable median home prices and strong local pride. Recently, students in the welding program at Natrona County High School showed off their skills at the Steel Days competition at Laramie County Community College. They were praised for their accuracy and craftsmanship. The school is also celebrating the NCHS Thespian Troupe's success. They won several awards at a state-level performance competition this February. The district has also confirmed that the high school experience for the 2025–2026 school year will include a lot of different student leadership through its many student-led organizations.
