George Washington High School just finished a huge $88 million renovation that added a 2,200-seat gym and a cutting-edge Career and Technical Education wing called "Motiv8" for the 2025–2026 school year. The new wing has special facilities for aviation, agriscience, and mechatronics. The culinary arts program also benefits from the opening of the Cherry Tree Café and a professional-grade learning kitchen. The school also celebrated the selection of a student as the 2025 Charleston Youth Poet Laureate. It also continues to offer hands-on leadership training through its CTE Ambassadors program.
