McLean High School is a public high school in McLean, Virginia, that serves students in grades 9–12. It is part of the Fairfax County Public Schools system. The school has between 1,900 and 2,000 students, and there is one teacher for every 15 students. This helps the school stay organized and focused on academics. There are 30 high schools in the district, and McLean High School is the eighth best in the state. The school has a tough academic program with tests and classes for Advanced Placement (AP). 82% of students take AP classes, which shows that they really want to go to college. Students can also take honors classes, career and technical education programs, and a lot of other things outside of school that will help them get ready for college and work. Approximately 52% of the students belong to minority groups, and around 13% identify as economically disadvantaged. For the school year 2025–2026, academic tests show that 87% of students are good at math and 96% are good at reading (ELA). Students also take the SAT and ACT to help them plan for college.

Several seniors at McLean High School have been honored for their outstanding work. Some were named National Merit Commended Students and Semifinalists. The school's Model United Nations team did an amazing job at the University of Virginia's VAMUN Conference, winning the Best Large Delegation award. Senior Wonwoo Do won the YoungArts contest for photography with distinction.
