Oscar F. Smith High School is a public high school in Chesapeake, Virginia. It is part of the Chesapeake City Public Schools district and serves students in grades 9 through 12. The school has about 2,000 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 17:1, which helps with structured learning in the classroom. Oscar F. Smith High School is one of seven high schools in the district and is the one of best high school in Virginia. The school has a lot of academic programs, such as Advanced Placement classes and tests. About 14% of students take AP classes. Career and technical education pathways, honors classes, and college-readiness programs all give students many ways to get ready for success after high school. In the 2025–2026 school year, students' academic performance showed that about 85% of them were good at math and about 81% of them were good at reading. Students can also take the SAT and ACT tests that the school sets up. Oscar F. Smith High School has a lot of different kinds of students. About 83% of them are minorities, and about 81% of them economically disadvantaged.

Oscar F. Smith High School's boys' football team won the Class 6 state title, securing a second straight championship win. The school's music departments got Superior ratings, which made them a Blue Ribbon School. The school's PAWS 4 Coffee shop is also a place where students can learn and get real-world experience. Also, the school's EL students made announcements in several languages to get the word out about the Governor's Seal of Biliteracy testing.
