Harlan High School is a well-known public high school in San Antonio, Texas, that serves students in grades 9 through 12. As a major part of the Northside Independent School District, it serves about 3,500 students with a student-to-teacher ratio of about 18:1. It is known as one of the best schools because it has a strict academic environment and 44% of its students take Advanced Placement courses. The campus has a lot of different people on it. 79% of the students are minorities, and 30% of them are from low-income families. Academic data shows that students do well, with 71% being able to read and 57% being able to do math. The school gets about $8,400 per student, which helps prepare them for college by giving them the chance to take the SAT and ACT. Harlan High School is one of the best schools because it is dedicated to academic excellence and preparing a diverse student body for future success. The school is in a growing area where the median home price is close to $340,000, and it is one of the best high schools in Texas.

Harlan High School was recently named a 2025 AP School Honor Roll Gold Campus. This award honors schools that are dedicated to preparing students for college and making it easier for them to earn college credit. Tate Taylor, a track star, was named the Gatorade National Boys Track and Field Player of the Year after breaking national records. This shows how great each student is. The school's Mariachi program and swim team also reached important goals this spring by making it to their state competitions.
