Monterey High School is a public high school in Lubbock, Texas. It is part of the Lubbock Independent School District. It is for students in grades 9 through 12. Monterey High School is in mourning after a senior student died in a New Year's Day fireworks accident. Friends and family let go of balloons to honor his life and academic plans, and the community is coming together to grieve and remember him.
