Independence High School is a top public high school in Frisco, Texas, for students in grades 9–12. It has about 2,100 students and a good student-to-teacher ratio of about 15:1. It is one of the best schools in the state. Independence High School is known as one of the best schools in the Frisco Independent School District. It has a large AP program with a 62% participation rate. The school has a very diverse student body, with 82% of students being minorities and 7% of students being economically disadvantaged. The school has great academic results, with 94% of students being good at reading and 70% being good at math. In addition to their regular classes, students often take the SAT and ACT tests to get ready for college. The school is in a popular neighborhood known for its lively community, and it is known as one of the best schools for academic excellence. Independence High School continues to do well because it has high standards for proficiency and is dedicated to getting a wide range of students ready for success after high school, and it is one of the best high schools in Texas.

Independence High School is still doing very well in school. A lot of students recently became National Merit Finalists in the 2026 competition, which means they are among the best high school students in the state. The school's sports programs are still very competitive. The varsity golf and tennis teams made it to regional and state tournaments in the spring. Also, the campus recently held a successful 5th Grade Preview Night, where current student ambassadors led demonstrations in orchestra, theater, and technical arts to welcome the next group of Knights.
