Philip Simmons High School's boys' and girls' cross country teams both won state championships for the 2025–2026 season. This was a big deal for the school. The school recently honored its winter graduates from 2026. Several students made it into the All-County Band and Chorus after going through tough auditions. The Iron Horses will play at the Class AA level starting next school year. The campus is also getting ready for more growth because of a new regional realignment.
