Perseus House CS of Excellence

Perseus House Charter School of Excellence is a public charter high school in Erie, Pennsylvania that serves grades 9–12. It is the only high school run by the Perseus House Charter School of Excellence. The school has about 300 to 400 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 12:1, which helps create a smaller, more personal learning environment. Perseus House Charter School of Excellence focuses on personalized instruction, student support services, and different ways of teaching that are meant to help students who do better with structured guidance and one-on-one attention. The academic program focuses on core subjects and also includes strategies for social-emotional learning and behavioral support. Students get help with planning for college and careers, and when it's appropriate, they can also take the SAT or ACT through coordinated arrangements. About 76% of the students are minorities, and about 82% of the students are eligible for programs that help them financially. For the 2025–2026 school year, reported proficiency levels show 0% in Math and 2% in Reading. This is because the school has a unique way of teaching.
