See top schools in PortlandPortland, Oregon's Westview High School is one of the best public high schools. It has about 2,400 students in grades 9–12. It is known as one of the best schools in the Beaverton School District 48J because of its strict academic environment. Students have a lot of chances to take Advanced Placement® classes, with a 40% participation rate and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 21:1. There are a lot of different cultures represented in the student body. 63% of students are minorities, and 31% are economically disadvantaged. Westview High School is one of the best schools in the area, with 30% of students being good at math and 51% being good at reading. With about $16,778 per student from the district, the school has a great reputation in the community. Its main strengths are its high standards for college readiness and a lively school environment that encourages both academic success and smooth transitions to college.

Westview High School recently added more dual-credit classes with Portland Community College. This gives more students the chance to earn college credits in advanced math and writing that they can use at other schools. The school's robotics team qualified for the world championships after doing well at the Pacific Northwest regional event. The school has also started new sustainability programs, such as a recycling program run by students and improvements to the school's green spaces.
