It is known as one of the best schools in the Beaverton School District 48J because of its strict academic environment. Westview High School recently added more dual-credit classes with Portland Community College. This gives more students the chance to earn college credits in advanced math and writing that they can use at other schools. The school's robotics team qualified for the world championships after doing well at the Pacific Northwest regional event. The school has also started new sustainability programs, such as a recycling program run by students and improvements to the school's green spaces.
