Franklin High School's MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) team recently made it to state-level competitions with their creative prototypes for sustainability. The school has introduced a new interdisciplinary environmental justice course, which combines social studies and science to address local ecological challenges in Portland. The Lightning football and soccer teams are using newly renovated stadiums that make the experience better for both student-athletes and fans.
