It is the only high school in the Western Heights district and serves about 850 students with a full range of educational programs. The school has about 17 students for every teacher, and it is known for its dedication to academic growth, with 16% of students taking Advanced Placement® classes. The student body is made up of people from many different cultures, with 85% of them being minorities. Many of these students come from low-income families. The data shows that 4% of people are good at math and 15% are good at reading. Western Heights High School is one of the most well-known schools for its welcoming atmosphere, thanks to district funding of about $10,131 per student. Its strengths are its dedicated support services and its promise to make sure that all of its students can graduate and get ready for their careers.

The science labs at Western Heights High School have been updated with new technology to help with advanced biology and chemistry research. The school just started a full internship program that connects students with businesses in the Oklahoma City area so they can learn about real-world careers. The Western Heights Band also got high marks at the most recent state music festival, which shows how strong the school's performing arts department is.
