Students at Summit Academy Charter School worked with Penn State to test soil from the school garden for pH, nutrients and composition to understand how soil health affects plant growth. With the help of the Whole Kids Market Foundation, the Garden Club built four raised beds and in-ground plots, learning companion planting to deter pests and promote healthy growth. Members of the Knights’ Council visited Keystone Safari and petted and fed animals.
