There are seven high schools in the Paterson Public School District, and this is one of them. There are about 450 to 500 students at the school, and there is one teacher for every 12 students. This makes it easier for teachers to give focused lessons and for students to learn on their own. International High School has a hard academic program that includes tests and classes for the International Baccalaureate (IB). About 47% of students take the IB, which gives them access to educational opportunities that are known all over the world. The student body is mostly made up of people from different backgrounds. About 81% of the students economically disadvantaged, and 96% of the students are from minority groups. About 24% of students are good at reading and about 3% are good at math, according to the school. Students also take tests like the SAT and ACT that are the same for everyone. International High School is in a city and its main goal is to get students ready for college.

International High School has a new building with a two-floor library, four science labs, and a 500-seat auditorium. This gives students more space to learn. The school has a curriculum that focuses on international and global studies and stresses important skills like speaking, researching, and debating. Students must learn a language other than their own, which helps create a welcoming and diverse environment. The IB program at International High School has been praised for having a wide range of female students in AP Computer Science.
