The Heartland Athletic Conference has recently accepted Northwest High School as a member. This will start in the 2026–27 school year. The school has grown and moved up to Class A competition. The campus is using its new "innovation hub" and learning stairs for group lectures and small group work all spring 2026. Students are also currently taking specialized Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes on-site to improve their job prospects in the healthcare field before they graduate.
