Tupelo High School is the only high school in Tupelo, Mississippi, and it is a top public school. It serves students in grades 9 through 12. It has a large number of students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 15:1, making it one of the best schools in the state. The school is well-known for its wide range of classes, including Advanced Placement exams and coursework, which 23% of students take. There are 65% of minority students in the school, and 59% of the students are considered to be economically disadvantaged. Tupelo High School has high academic standards, with 66% of students doing well in math and 57% doing well in reading. The school also makes it easier for students to take the ACT and SAT to help them get ready for college, and it is one of the best High School in "Mississippi" . The Tupelo Public School District is in a community that is known for supporting the arts and sports. This makes for a lively learning environment. In short, the school is known for having a good balance of academic skills and for being committed to giving all students a full range of educational opportunities.

Tupelo High School was recently renewed as a District of Innovation, which means it can use creative teaching methods and specialized curriculum models. The school is also getting a $34 million bond that voters approved for public school improvements, which will pay for major renovations to make the learning environments better. Recently, the school had a successful high-level performing arts production of Mean Girls and the debut of the 2026 Golden Wave football schedule, which features big matchups to start the new season.
